Free Guide to the Sanitas Residents Platinum Visa Plan

Platinum is the plan for people who want the choice of being treated outside the Sanitas network as well as inside it. This guide explains what that adds, how you use it, and who the visa version is available to.

Who it’s for

For people weighing choice of doctor against price

Platinum is not simply “the better one”. It is a different shape of cover, and it earns its place for some households and not for others. This guide is written so you can tell which you are, rather than choosing on the name.

It is most useful if you already know that private cover is your route. If you are not there yet, the DNV health insurance guide answers that question first.

Sanitas calls this product Residents Platinum para visado. There is a general version as well, and the guide is clear about which conditions attach to which.

What’s inside

What the guide covers

  • What the Platinum Visa Plan is — private care through the Sanitas medical network in Spain, with the freedom to be treated outside it as well.
  • Platinum or Residents? — the difference set out plainly, so the choice is about how you want to use the cover rather than about which sounds better.
  • How you use the cover — inside the network, outside the network, when you are abroad, and what reimbursement means in practice for a bill you have paid yourself.
  • Your everyday cover in Spain — GP and primary care, consultations, diagnostic tests and imaging, hospital treatment and surgery, emergencies and digital appointments.
  • Which version you need — the visa (Visado) version against the general Platinum version, who each is available to, and the age conditions that apply.
  • Arranging the cover — what happens when the policy starts, and what is worth keeping if you ever need to claim.
  • What to do next — how to get a quote for the people who are actually being covered.

Sanitas is the insurer, part of Bupa. We arrange the cover as its agent.

Your details

We use your name and email address to provide the guide you asked for and to keep a record of the request. Your phone number is optional. Asking for a guide does not sign you up to marketing: we will not add you to a mailing list and we will not send you anything else unless you ask us to. Our privacy information explains who is responsible for your details, how long we keep them, and how to ask us to change or remove them.

The two plans are easiest to compare on your own numbers

Which one is worth it depends on who is being covered, their ages and where you will live. We can price both for the same household so you are choosing between two real figures rather than two descriptions.
